Contract Onsite in Gloucestershire £450 per day inside IR35

We're currently seeking an accomplished and highly ambitious Network Engineer to work with our exceptional client, a world class brand in a secure environment to drive major business transformation, process, and technical change across this complex organisation.

This contract role will require you to hold valid DV clearance.

The Network Engineer role is conducted in an environment that is far from ordinary, therefore, we're not looking for ordinary.

Key responsibilities:

Design and configuration of network infrastructure for the provision of various IT projects, and planned roadmap update to the existing infrastructure

  • Work with Projects to determine their network infrastructure requirements and make sure they fit in with the network design
  • Provide these projects with guidance on what can and cannot be achieved. if the requirements are outside of the network design to liaise with the architectural teams to determine a way forward
  • Provide input to the network infrastructure roadmaps to ensure that the existing infrastructure is kept up to date and supportable
  • Configuration of network infrastructure to meet project requirement
  • Produce HLD, LLD and other support handover documentations for the Network Infrastructure. To include providing the support teams with knowledge transfer sessions
  • Work with the other engineering teams to deliver the other infrastructure roadmaps

Essential skills:

  • Data Centre technology based on Cisco Nexus 7000, 5000, 2000
  • Experience in Cisco routing and switching technologies.
  • Experience in the following products.
    • Cisco ASR 1000 routers
    • Cisco ISR routers
    • Cisco Campus LAN switches i.e. 3850, 6500 and 6800
    • Cisco ASA firewalls
    • Fortinet Firewalls
    • FS Load balancers, including GTM/LTM/APM
    • Infoblox appliances for DNS/DHCP
  • Management tools knowledge including Cisco LMS, CiscoWorks, Netflow and Wireshark
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills, highly enthusiastic team player
  • CCNP certified and above
