Our client is a trusted partner of the UK's Ministry of Defence. They are currently seeking a Simulation & Modelling Engineer to join their team in Stevenage. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a fast-moving and challenging project.

As a Simulation & Modelling Engineer with previous experience, you will be responsible for designing and developing complex guided weapon systems products. Your role will be vital to the success of this project.

What we're looking for:

An appropriate competent Engineering Degree or master's, e.g. (Systems or Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics).

  • Simulation and Modelling - preferably on Aerospace projects.
  • The MathWorks products - specifically Simulink, Embedded MATLAB and Stateflow.
  • Ability to produce a computer simulation (/Simulink model) from a mathematical specification.
  • Understanding of the modelling process and working within a quality process.
  • Rational Team Concert (or similar Configuration and Management Tools).
  • DOORS (or similar Requirement Management Tools); C, FORTRAN, or Ada.

What you'll get to do as a Simulation & Modelling Engineer:

These are the tasks you will be responsible for: the development, integration, and testing of models, as well as reviews and supporting documentation. You must ensure that the work complies with appropriate quality standards. Within your defined tasks, you will work autonomously with other functional teams such as Guidance Navigation & Control, Software, Hardware-in-the-Loop, Systems Design, and Quality Assurance. You will conduct technical analyses and investigations into various issues and problems and develop solutions individually or as part of a project team. You will support your team lead and fellow team members to meet project deadlines On Time, On Cost, & On Quality.

More about the role:

Our client's relationship with the UK military spans back over 70 years. They have delivered countless landmarks in defence engineering, supplying vital defence capability to meet the needs of the armed forces over land, sea, and air.

This role is based at their headquarters site in Stevenage which plays a key part in missiles operations. The site also offers excellent transportation links and boasts an onsite gym and coffee shop. Training and development are offered to all employees.
