Guidant jumps 46 places in Sunday Times Top 100 Employer list

By Alexa Bradbury, Global Marketing Director

We are thrilled that Guidant Global has been placed at number 51 in the Sunday Times Best 100 Best Companies to Work For – a jump of 46 places from last year and an achievement that CEO Simon Blockley says is:

“A testament to the fantastic culture we have all worked so hard to create. At Guidant Global we champion a better, more forward way of thinking and we have a core philosophy of shifting the focus to people.

In essence we wanted to create a global work culture where people feel valued and fulfilled – a people first strategy that supports employee wellbeing while still driving business results. We were obviously delighted to make the list last year but this year’s achievement is testimony to the fact that not only have we succeeded, but also that we are continually improving.”

Of particular note to our ranking was that 80% of #TeamGuidant's working parents have an informal flexible working agreement, an arrangement which is part of a supportive, yet ‘grown up’ culture. Career breaks and working from home are available to all staff and there is a real sense that people are seen as individuals rather then part of a rigid work structure. One of our employees suddenly became the primary carer of her partner who had lost his sight – her role was adapted to facilitate her needs including a change in working hours and responsibility with no loss of salary.

“The fact that 84% of our employees agree that work is an important part of their life and 85% feel that they can make a positive contribution to the organisation’s success makes me feel exceptionally proud”, adds Simon Blockley. “However, we don’t want to rest on our laurels and I am hoping that next year we can be closer to that magic number 1 spot!”
