Bring Your Kids To Work Day

Guidant Global celebrates parents and children at work

By Steph Dyke, Marketing Manager

This year, we wanted celebrate all our wonderful parents at Guidant Global by hosting our first ever Bring Your Kids to Work Day at our Luton and London offices.

We did our best to brighten up the office with tonnes of fun games (ring toss was a crowd-pleaser), dance-offs (flossing was the popular move of choice), glitter tattoos (we’ll get a green fairy please) and face-painting (fancy rainbows with stars, or a wolf with teeth and blood?).

Hear what the Guidant Global kids think about their parents and their jobs, and how our people have managed their careers:

86% of parents want to work flexibly – the reality is that less than half do
For many UK parents, getting a balance of work and family isn’t easy. In the Modern Families Index 2019, 78% of parents feel that they’re working beyond their contracted hours, 47% of parents say that work restricts their ability to spend time reading or playing with their children, and as a result, 48% report work to affect their relationship with their partner too.

Employees are parents too
These significant figures are a result of our poor approach to work in the UK. As part of Guidant Global’s culture in encouraging our people to bring their authentic selves to work, one aspect of this is creating a stress-free environment for our fellow colleagues who are also parents too. We’re proud to say we’ve provided flexible working solutions to 82% of our people in the UK alone.

Whether it’s an emergency situation at school or last-minute childcare issues, we want our people know they don’t need to apologise when life throws them a curveball.

We’re proud to support our people and their unique life circumstances through #ABetterWay. Our exciting growth plans mean we’re always looking for people who share the same values as us. Take a look at our latest vacancies here >
