Guidant Global's inaugural fundraising golf day

By Alexa Bradbury, Global Marketing Director

It’s a day we’ll never FORE-get (sorry, couldn’t resist). On the 13th of September, Guidant Global were joined by teams of our supply partners to host our very first fundraising golf day at our client JCB’s outstanding JCB Golf and Country Club. We were there raising funds and awareness for the Recruitment Industry Disability Initiative (RIDI), who work to break down barriers faced by millions of disabled people who are entering or progressing through the job market.

Because we take competition seriously here at Guidant, we made sure all our players were fed a hearty pre-game breakfast (mmm… Bacon baps!), followed by a chance to warm up on the driving range.

And then, at 11:30am, the game was on.

Team Guidant’s MD, Karina Townley, was a real sport through keeping team morale high by driving around on a golf buggy handing out various beverages to our dedicated and thirsty players on the course.

Probably the best-dressed team was one of our sponsors, Indeed! Decked out in matching navy Indeed caps, light blue Indeed polo shirts, grey pants and white trainers, they definitely looked the part – whether that was their intimidation tactic, we weren’t wavered (we promise)!

We ended the sunny September day with a BBQ, drinks and raffle draws and we’re pleased to say that the day was a massive success, we were able to raise over £7,000! Big congratulations to the winners, Nelson Recruitment Services, for putting (again, couldn’t resist) in an outstanding performance.

Have a look through more pictures from the day below!

Finally, we want to say a huge thanks everyone at the JCB Golf and Country Club for looking after us on their spectacular course– and to all of our partners that came out to support us and RIDI. We’ll see you again next year!
