The UK's trusted Ministry of Defence partner, MBDA, are looking for a skilled Actuation Lab Co-Ordinator to work within the dynamic multi-disciplinary Missile Actuators Centre of Excellence. The successful candidate will develop and deliver actuation systems to each MBDA nation based at the Stevenage site.

As an Actuation Lab Co-Ordinator, the successful candidate will join our team and take on full responsibility for the day-to-day management of the Actuation development lab.

What you'll get to do as an Actuation Lab Co-Ordinator:

  • Manage all activities undertaken in the Actuation lab, manage the capacity in the lab, and plan with the project team's usage of the CATE tables and equipment.
  • Work with the development engineers to set up tests on the CATE tables; this will involve mechanical-based skills and electronics.
  • Responsible for the lab's health and safety to ensure a safe environment for all users and escalate issues to the management team as required.
  • Ensure the appropriate ESD rules are applied and adhered to by all lab users.
  • Manage staff members' access to the lab, ensuring they have the appropriate training to access the lab.
  • De-bugging and root cause understanding on test setups as required. Also, there will be CCA-level investigations and corrective action work needed on an as-need basis.
  • Responsible for the equipment within the lab, ensuring it is available as needed, and working with the management team to highlight any shortfalls.
  • Managing the use of the ovens with the development teams
  • Support for EMC testing

What we're looking for:

  • Experience of working in a lab environment
  • Good electronics engineering background.
  • Good mechanical skills, happy to use basic hand tools.
  • Conversant on ESD requirements in a lab environment.
  • You must be a UK national or citizen to be eligible for the role.
