The role
Action for Children have been commissioned by Derby and Derbyshire Clinical Commissioning Group to establish 2 new Mental Health Support Teams (MHST's) and continue the delivery of 4 recently established MHST's teams across 6 Centres of Excellence until December 2022.
MHST's will provide mental health and emotional wellbeing support to children and young people and their families and carers through schools in the Centre of Excellence areas. Each MHST will support several schools and colleges, covering a population of around children and young people.
We are looking for an experienced administrator, who will work closely alongside management and operational colleagues across the service, to provide timely, efficient, and effective administrative support to the Mental Health support Teams. You will be the first point of contact for children, young people, families, and professionals who contact the service, so will need to be approachable, compassionate, and empathetic, both in person and over the phone. Experience of working independently to plan and manage your own workload to meet organisational deadlines and shared goals, will be essential. You also need experience of maintaining data management systems, finance systems and using Microsoft Office software. We will actively support you in your role and provide you with relevant training, development, and supervision. Days of work and working base are negotiable at interview.
You will make a difference by:
-Providing a range of administrative and front of house services utilising organisational policies, procedures and digital systems.
-Organising and progressing the full range of activities associated with the management of business meetings, ensuring efficient and effective planning for a single or series of meetings, addressing timelines, notifying participants, venue\location (including use of digital technology), refreshments, agenda preparation, minuting and progress chasing agenda items and follow up actions.
-Providing written, verbal and e-correspondence, in collaboration with management and operational colleagues, ensuring prompt, courteous and appropriate responses.
-Undertaking desk top research on behalf of colleagues and management to inform responses to correspondence received or to enable the completion of specific reports.
-Producing presentations, written and financial reports for management, including formatting of information and data, which is consistent with organisational and regulatory standards.
You will need:
-Business Administration S/NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification or work experience.
-Experience of using PC's on a business network running MS Windows and Office, along with Email and Internet and specific business applications i.e. finance.
-Proven track record in the use of IT packages to produce presentations and statistical data for the Department.
-Experience of providing a confidential, professional service and to work flexibly to meet the demands of the role.
