Guidant Global is recruiting on behalf of a highly recognised university for an Administrator for a 2-month contract duration with an immediate start.

The administrator will be responsible for leading in the planning and development of the administrative aspects of the Centre, providing an efficient and effective service, as well as providing a public face by aiding and running internal and external events

This is a HYBRID role. Expectation is to be on campus 50% or 60% of the time, especially if there's an event to help with.

In this role, you can expect to:

Management Support

* Liaise with stakeholders and a range of external partners.

* Develop, manage and maintain the Centre's web pages, mailing lists and social media presence.

* Review and co-ordinate digital identity and social media strategy in line with the brand identity.

* Support the Co-Directors where appropriate.

* Work with the Co-Directors regarding the preparation of strategic planning, the development of activities and production of research outputs including publications and reports.

* Develop relationships with colleagues.

* Manage the HR needs of the Centre, including the recruitment of staff.

* Support the Centre's steering group through a range of activities including scheduling, setting agendas and taking minutes.

* Day-to-day management of existing grants and core funds, ensuring compliance with University and funder regulations.

* Support the Director in seeking and applying for additional funding by managing the costing and submission processes.

* Process invoices, expenses and payments associated with the Centre's activities.

* Support philanthropic initiatives in liaison with the Office of the Vice Provost Advancement. Teaching and Student Administration

* Navigate the institutional complexities of the institution concerning research and teaching at all levels.

* MA recruitment: work closely with SELCS in marketing and publicity to encourage MA applications.

* MA administrative support: work pro-actively with SELCS on matters relating to the programme and students, including signposting enquiries to relevant departments, organising students' induction, liaising with other teaching departments to coordinate optional modules for the MA programme Events Administration

* Organise a range of events, and assist with their running where appropriate: public lectures, private seminars, etc.

* Co-ordinate marketing activities and the development of a clear and effective promotional strategy.

* Manage the Centre's podcast.

We're looking for candidates who have:

Qualifications, experience and knowledge


-Educated to A level standard, or equivalent qualifications or substantial relevant experience

-Educated to degree standard or equivalent

-Experience of working in a higher education institution

-Experience of managing budgets and financial processing

-Experience of managing different and competing deadlines, working both independently and as part of a team in a complex organisation

-Experience of managing events from inception to completion

-Experience of using Adobe or other image & sound editing software, or experience of producing podcasts

Skills and abilities

-An excellent command of written and spoken English

-Ability to develop effective working relationships with staff at all levels of seniority

-Excellent IT skills (Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, email etc.)

-Excellent communication skills, both written and oral; confidence in communicating with people of all levels

-High level of organisational skills, with excellent attention to detail

-Ability to use website and event management tools (eg Drupal, MailChimp, Eventbrite) and social media in a professional capacity
