The role

Airplay and Ben Club is the RAF Benevolent Funds £24 million youth support programme for RAF families, providing a huge range of facilities, equipment and activities for children and young people. Airplay & Ben Club provides children with the opportunity to participate in a range of arts and crafts, sports based activities, games, play and fun activities.

The successful candidate will be working 3:30pm to 6pm on Tuesdays and 3:30pm to 9pm on Thursdays during term time - during the holidays, flexibility is required to work day time hours.

You will make a difference by:

- Assisting in the delivery of appropriate range of youth work and play activities which are stimulating, engaging, challenging and creative.
- Maintaining effective working relationships and channels of communications with colleagues, children, young people and families.
- Contributing to the planning, delivery and evaluation of high-quality youth work sessions.
- Promoting good practice in a professional and inclusive manner.
- Being fully involved in all activities associated with the Youth Clubs provision.
- Following safeguarding guidelines and report concerns using the correct procedure.


You will need:

- A Level 2 Youth Work qualification would be desirable but not essential.
- At least one-year experience of delivering face to face activities with young people both individually and in groups.
- The ability to engage with children, young people, their families and carers maintaining and appropriately ending relationships.
- An understanding of the issues relating to children and families from military communities.
- An understanding of youth work and child development.
