Assistant Director - City Clean Waste Environment Management

Salary: £350pd PAYE or equivalent

Guidant Global are seeking an experienced Assistant Director to lead the operational day to day services of our Waste Management Team based at City Clean. This is a fast-paced role that requires someone with extensive experience and a proven track record in large scale waste management operations. This is a temporary position expected to last up to 6 months to support the permanent Assistant Director in times of transformational change in the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operational management of the waste services.
  • Collaborate closely with senior politicians, ensuring that operations align with council priorities and policies.
  • Support and enable your counterpart to focus on transformational change by taking charge of the operational remit.
  • Maintain a strong on-site presence to ensure the highest standards of service are met

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience in managing large waste management operations is essential
  • Ability to work responsibly and collaboratively with senior political figures and stakeholders
  • Experience of working in a highly unionised environment, proactively addressing employee relations and industrial relations matters to achieve positive outcomes
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Commitment to maintaining high operational standards in a fast-moving and specialised field
