Our Place is a new, OFSTED registered, 4 bedded residential unit for children and young people aged between 8 - 18 who have various learning and physical disabilities.

As an Assistant Residential Worker you'll help our team provide a safe and caring environment, supporting the children with household tasks and all aspects of their care.

You will be working 37 hours a week, please note that candidates must be able to commit to a rolling rota which will consist of some weekend and evening work.

How you will make a difference?

  • By supporting children and young people in their personal care, administration of medication and clinical procedures in line with the services policies and procedures.
  • By contributing to the development and evaluation of care plans and risk assessments.
  • By ensuring safeguarding practices are in place.
  • By planning and executing activities for service users to promote a healthy and positive lifestyle.
  • By promoting independence and Equality & Diversity throughout the service.

What you will need?

  • A real compassionate and positive attitude is a MUST
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work well within a team
  • The ability to use own initiative
  • Previous experience and knowledge working with Service users with Learning Disabilities and Physical Disabilities would be an advantage but full training will be provided for the right candidate
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or the willingness to work towards it
