Banking Payment Assistant
Location - Stockon-On-Tees
Hourly Rate - £15.00 PAYE (37.5 hour working week)
Length of Contract - End of September
Job Purpose
Responsible for ensuring delivery of a timely and high standard of banking and financial information to the client's businesses through use of internal and external relationships and systems.
Principle Accountabilities
- Working with the other team members to ensure the department provides an efficient and effective service and that stakeholders receive exemplary customer service.
- Maintain bank and treasury account reconciliations for the business to ensure the accounting transactions are booked correctly and the internal stakeholders including treasury have good visibility of physical cash flow
- Issue and monitor the corporate credit cards to client employees in line with the client's policy
- Initiate and review internal and external payments on ERP systems in line with agreed timetable, ensure the payments interface with banking software is successful and that all payments are approved on schedule
- Monitor all banking transaction exceptions which do not clear on payment runs and work with internal and external customers to ensure the issues are resolved in a timely manner.
- Provide support for ad-hoc requests as required including providing back-up for team members and the Payment & Admin Hub Manager
Scope
- The Banking Analyst will be working regularly with Corporate Treasury, senior regional and site Financial Controllers, Group Finance and Business staff at all levels.
- This Banking team will comprise approximately 5 FTE's in Teesdale and this will likely evolve and change over time.
- The Banking team are responsible for processing banking transactions worth millions of pounds on a daily basis
Special Factors
- Could involve travel to other sites.
- Requires a focus on customer service whilst ensuring the appropriate goals are met and controls are operating effectively
Qualifications/Experience
- GCSE's in Maths and English or equivalent
- Understanding of basic accounting
- Working Knowledge of Online banking platforms
- Working Knowledge of ERP system (SAP)
- Minimum 3 years work experience within finance department
- Microsoft Excel Intermediate Level (Lookups, Pivot Tables)
