Business Process Owner (BPO)

Location - Working From Home (Post pandemic, some travel to UK sites and Poland)

Contract - 24 Month FTC

Rate of Pay - £60 - £65K per annum

The successful candidate will be responsible for owning an end-to-end business process, including the portion touched by the underlying SAP system, and implementing standard manual controls to mitigate risks where system functionality is insufficient. They must apply sound business, governance, risk and control judgement to establish best practice standardised processes to be used across all sites within the Sector. They will guide the strategic direction of the Unify template to prioritise fixes and improvements to the template to achieve business goals. The end goal is to drive efficiencies into the business via consistent, optimised processes enforced where practical via the Unify template design.

Accountabilities

  • Ensures adoption of global policies and standards.
  • Where previously approved by Global Process Owner (GPO), ensures Sector localisation / variation of policies and procedures are created, approved and communicated.
  • Ensures sector organisational structure and capabilities are in place to enable common global processes.
  • Responsible for standardised role mapping to ensure effective operation of processes, SoD and risk and compliance concerns are mitigated.
  • Drives the usage and adoption of standard global processes within the Sector and integration with other process domains, and early adoption (pre-Unify deployment) of standard processes where possible.
  • Responsible for alignment of sector-specific Process Strategy & Vision with global.
  • Responsible for agreed sector specific processes within their individual domain and integrated areas.
  • Responsible for Sector decisions relating to sector-specific requirements and process design and driving for standardisation within the Sector.
  • Accountable for documentation and ongoing maintenance and management of local process - including both on and off system steps and processes not within global scope and control.
  • Chair Business Governance Forums to manage & prioritise continuous improvement requests and provide appropriate Sector process knowledge / representation to ensure integrity of process.
  • Attend Template Review Board to present Sector sponsored change requests.
  • Understand core global template and ensure solution is "fit for purpose".
  • Responsible for identifying opportunities for sector improvement and building case for Change to secure funding for Sector transformation initiatives.
  • Responsible for the review and approval of Sector change requests (Service Requests/STPs) prior to formal submission as a request for Change through Governance (Submit to Process Governance Team or Programme Deployment Team/s).
  • Act as single point of contact (SPOC) for Sector requirements clarification and confirmation.
  • Responsible for impact assessing changes relating to end to end process.
  • Responsible within the Sector for ensuring implementation of global and Sector changes and adherence to new standards in accordance with roadmap and portfolio plan.
  • Responsible for confirming and managing UAT approach for Sector relating to changes to the template and solution.

Scope

  • Significant, complex role required to influence across Battery Materials globally, as well as other Sectors as they deploy Unify.
  • Key stakeholders include General Battery Materials Business Management, Finance and functional Managers, GPOs, GBPL, Unify, CI, and JMIT
  • Primary responsibility for the related end to end business process transformation within the Sector.
  • Key influencer in the reception of Unify into the business and in managing lessons learned from one deployment to another.
  • Product/manufacturing/cost accountant within a manufacturing environment with SAP implementation experience in a business process function.

Experience & Competencies

  • Ability to operate effectively in different cultures and across geographies, including managing stakeholders and colleagues remotely (across distance and time zones).
  • Knowledge of ERP (preferably SAP) systems
  • Structured yet flexible. Comfortable with/able to thrive in change and complexity.
  • In-depth knowledge of appropriate end to end core business process
  • Experience of managing multiple stakeholders across all levels, in the context of implementing major operational change
  • Experience of implementing multi-divisional, multi-regional projects and programmes
  • Experience of working effectively in a matrix model involving multiple contributors
  • Experience of chemicals / automotive industry
  • Ability to adjust effectively to change, explore benefits and trial new approaches collaborating with others to facilitate effective change.
  • Identifying opportunities and taking action to build strategic relationships between one's areas, teams, departments, units, or organisations including customers, to help achieve business goals.
  • Clearly conveying information and ideas through a variety of media to individuals or groups in a manner that engages the audience and helps them understand and retain the message.
  • Translating strategic priorities into operational reality; aligning communication, accountabilities, resource capabilities, internal processes, and ongoing measurement systems to ensure that strategic priorities yield measurable and sustainable results.
  • Qualified in CIMA, but ACCA or ACA with relevant experience
