The role
Permanency is one of Action for Children's key strategic areas of development. Our Fostering Services are committed to Doing what is right, Doing what is needed and Doing what works to provide stable and loving homes for vulnerable and challenging children that need them most. Our teams train, support and develop foster carers skills to promote the needs of children through Therapeutic Parenting and child centred approaches. - By providing a high-quality range of administrative services to colleagues, Foster Carers and professionals.
- By supporting the foster carer application and assessment process to ensure we provide safe and stable homes for our children.
- By working as part of a team yet having the ability to work on your own initiative as required.
- By having a willingness to learn with strong attention to detail and adhere to best practises
- By being effective, intuitive, flexible and able to work to deadlines.
- By having experience of financial processes and systems such as petty cash, invoice processing and billing.
- By having excellent customer service and being a good communicator at all levels by phone, email and face-to-face.
- By maintaining a safe workplace, completing health & safety audits, risk assessments and ensuring health and safety policies and procedures are followed.
- By having a sensitive approach to the work that we undertake.
What will you need?
- A minimum of 2 years' experience within a similar administrative role with excellent communication skills is essential.
- Advanced IT Skills and experience of use of various IT systems including Microsoft Office 365 within the workplace - SharePoint, Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Experience of following internal office processes and procedures, ensuring these are implemented and actioned.
- A professional yet personable approach to give the best first impression of our services.
- You will be proactive, highly motivated with a can-do attitude and the ability to work flexibly to meet changing demands.
- An eye for accuracy and excellent organisation and planning skills.
- To be able to work autonomously on own initiative on a regular basis
- You will be fully committed to working towards the best outcomes for children and young people.
- The ability to maintain confidentiality, understand safeguarding responsibilities and act with discretion.
