Guidant Global is recruiting on behalf of a highly recognised university for a Call Handler role for a 3 days assignment, starting on August 13th.

The Undergraduate Admissions Office is looking to recruit a very able group of enthusiastic call handlers to assist the team during the busy period of Confirmation and Results in August. The post holders will act as the first point of contact to applicants and offer holders by offering advise and guidance on the telephone and assisting with administration for the department.

In this role, you can expect to:

  • There are no supervisory responsibilities attached to this post.
  • Taking telephone calls coming into the Confirmation and Results Day Call Centre, offering advice and guidance to the existing and potential applicants with queries regarding their application to the University.
  • Inputting data quickly and accurately into the student records system including personal information, qualifications etc.
  • Assistance with the preparation of information and documentation being sent to applicants, under the supervision of the Supervisor.
  • Maintaining a positive and professional approach when interacting with applicants, potential applicants, parents, teachers and other staff across the University.
  • Dealing with upset and anxious callers on the telephone with tact and empathy.
  • To ensure effective communication with line manager regarding work in progress and emerging issues.
  • To undertake all work in line with university's policies, procedures and regulations and to ensure at all times the promotion of equality of opportunity and non-discrimination in accordance with the university's Equal Opportunities policies.
  • To maintain an awareness and observation of Fire and Health & Safety Regulations.
  • Any other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job as requested by the Line Manager, Head of Department or Registrar.

The Confirmation and Results Day Call Handler will be expected to work on campus in the offices at Bidborough House and work the following hours:

-13 Aug 10am to 5pm with 1 hour lunch break,

-14 Aug 9am to 5pm with 1 hour lunch break

-15 Aug 8am to 5pm with 30 minutes lunch break

We're looking for candidates who have:

Qualifications, experience and knowledge

Qualifications commensurate with education to A level or equivalent, including proficiency in English and Mathematics.

Experience of working in a high volume data processing, customer service environment, such as a call centre

Skills and abilities

Fast, accurate typing and keyboard skills

Good IT skills, including a working knowledge of MS Office applications and knowledge of using databases.

Excellent data entry skills, with the ability to complete high-volume and repetitive tasks to consistently high standards with speed and accuracy.

Excellent interpersonal skills with a tactful and diplomatic approach to communication (both verbal and written)

Ability to evaluate information against set criteria and guidelines

Meticulous attention to detail and a conscientious approach to checking the accuracy of information

Ability to learn new procedures quickly and adhere to them with accuracy and efficiency

Ability to work as part of a team and share relevant information
