Salary: £17,300 per annum, pro rata

Our team provides care for young people with profound and multiple disabilities, including communication difficulties, sensory impairment, complex health needs and challenging behaviour. We support young people between the ages of 5-19 years to make choices and by developing life skills such as, personal care, cooking and communication.
We have three residential houses, two that specialise in working with children and young people on the Autistic Spectrum and one house that works with children and young people who have serve and complex needs. Patens is open all year round and is a full residential home for the children who live there. We also organise residential holidays to many different and exciting locations
We are looking for a cleaner to work 15 hours per week which will be Monday to Friday. You will be ensuring that all areas of offices, kitchen, bathroom and communal areas are maintained and kept to a high standard. Due to the location you will need to be a car driver.
How will you make a difference?
- You'll significantly improve young people's lives:
- By keeping high standards of cleaning
- By being able to work using your own initiative
- By replenishing cleaning materials and any other stocks as required
- By keeping all areas free from hazards
- By ensuring all bins are emptied to minimise any fire risk
- By reporting any breakages or any concerns to your line manager
- By working within Action for Children's policies and procedures
What will you need?
- A willingness to understand the issues faced by young people
- Excellent attention to detail
- Good communication skills
- The ability to work on your own initiative with good problem solving skills
- A Food Hygiene certificate is desirable
- The ability to prioritise and plan your schedule on a daily basis.
- A good knowledge of COSHH and Health and Safety at work.
- An understanding of Safeguarding
- Ability to work on your own along with prioritising work load
- The willingness to complete training which is relevant to your role.
