The role
The Pines provides quality residential care for up to 6 children, aged 5 - 18, with physical and/or learning disabilities and complex needs. We aim to provide a secure, nurturing and fun environment in which young people feel safe and can discover their self-worth as individuals. This is achieved by focusing on their needs with a flexible approach to all aspects of care.
We are looking for a Domestic to work 12 hours a week over 3 days You will ensure that all areas of the project are maintained and kept to a high standard. You will be working when the Children and young people are likely to be present at times. You will require a DBS check for this reason.
You will make a difference by:
-Keeping high standards of cleaning at all times.
-Being able to work using your own inititave.
-Replenishing cleaning materials and any other stocks as required.
-Keeping all areas free from hazards.
-Ensuring all bins are emptied to minimise any fire risk.
-Reporting any breakages or any concerns to management.
-Working within Action for Children's policies and procedures.
You will need:
-A willingness to understand the issues faced by young people
-Excellent attention to detail
-Good communication skills
-The ability to work on your own initiative with good problem solving skills
-The ability to prioritise and plan your schedule on a daily basis.
-A good knowledge of COSHH and Health and Safety at work.
-An understanding of Safeguarding
-The willingness to complete training which is relevant to your role
