Configuration Manager

Our client is a trusted partner of the UK Ministry of Defence, and they are currently searching for an experienced Configuration Management professional to join their team. In this role, you will provide technical support to the Configuration Management team. Additionally, you will be required to build strong relationships with stakeholders to facilitate the development, review, and implementation of processes and procedures.

Expertise in configuration management is critical to the success of developing and delivering quality engineered products to customers and end-users. As a configuration management expert, your role is essential in building trust and confidence in the program by ensuring the quality of all products produced. You will also provide technical guidance and support to project configuration managers, contributing to the overall success of the business programs by delivering excellence in technical solutions.

What we're looking for:

• Demonstrate experience in engineering or operations with a technical understanding of product lifecycle and delivery milestones.
• Experience in Configuration Management is required, focusing on the Aerospace or Defence industry.
• Please provide instances of your experience overseeing Configuration Management activities for engineering programs.
• To ensure control of product data across multiple projects, this role requires the ability to problem-solve, define best practices, and build effective Configuration Management throughout development and production phases.
• The proficiency to satisfy and approve external standards through healthy and efficient business processes.
• Tools: Windchill, PLM, and other PTC Toolsets, and JIRA

What you'll get to do as a Configuration Manager:

The ideal candidate will oversee multiple business projects to ensure a consistent and comprehensive Configuration Management (CM) strategy is in place. They will need to assess the status and progress of each project before guiding technical practices to support CM deliverables. Additionally, the candidate should understand specific business CM processes and help implement them within the project. They will also be required to provide comprehensive training to enhance the CM team's knowledge and skills. The candidate will collaborate with the CM Group Lead and team, offering advice and direction as needed.

Our client's relationship with the UK military spans back over 70 years. They have delivered countless landmarks in defence engineering, supplying vital defence capability to meet the needs of the armed forces over land, sea, and air.

This role is based at their headquarters site in Stevenage which plays a key part in missiles operations. The site also offers excellent transportation links and boasts an onsite gym and coffee shop. Training and development are offered to all employees.
