The role

The Vale Contact Centre provides supervised contact for children and their families. The children are placed with the local authority while there are on-going court proceedings.

You will organise rooms and equipment for contact and support Contact Supervisors.

Although the main base is at LDS House Barry, there may be times when you are out in the community at various venues throughout the Vale of Glamorgan.

You will make a difference by:

- Organising rooms and equipment to ensure venue is prepared for contact sessions.

- Supervising children and parents in a safe and friendly environment, to cover for Contact Supervisors when on holidays.

- Recording accurate information.

- Possessing the ability to identify any safeguarding issues and seeking out appropriate advice.

- Communicating effectively with families going through a traumatic period in their lives.

- Communicating with other professionals.

- Transporting children as and when required.

- Being a part of the Contact team helping the service develop.



You will need:

- Willingness to work towards NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.

- Experience working with children and or parents/families.

- The ability to communicate with others.

- A driving licence and access to a car. The job requires the ability to travel according to the needs of the job, with reasonable adjustments, if required, according to the Equality Act.
