The role
East Ayrshire Lisalanna Project provides a short break respite service throughout the year to upwards of 25 families and our residential service currently provides long term support for 2 young people. The young people who attend our project have a variety of disabilities and some display challenging behaviour. Both services are collocated with the Lisalanna service in Cumnock, East Ayrshire.
We are looking for a Cook who will plan and prepare the evening meals for the young people that are at the service. This will involve encouraging positive and healthy choices, prepare order of the food (you won't be placing the order) and keeping to an agreed budget. All food will be cooked from fresh and you will be working alone so you will also need to prepare, cook and wash up. We are looking for someone who can commit to 4 hours (2.30-6.30pm) over 5 days and this will include weekends.
You will make a difference by:
-Allowing you people to try new foods for the children.
- Maintaining a healthy balanced diet for the children.
- Preparing homemade fresh food for the children.
You will need:
- Experience of working in a kitchen.
- Food Hygiene or allergy awareness certificate.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to multi task.
- Be able to cook from a menu and support in menu creation.
