As the successful candidate, you will undertake the planning, ordering, preparation, cooking, and serving of nutritious meals to service users.
Key responcibilities:
- To provide food that reflects the needs of service users, with emphasis on quality, presentation and nutritional value, ensuring special dietary needs, and other cultural requirements are met.
- Undertake general food preparation and cooking duties ensuring that all food hygiene and health and safety standards are maintained.
- To operate and maintain mechanical catering aids e.g. potato peelers, slicing machines, in accordance with operating instructions.
- Ensure the highest standards of cleanliness are maintained throughout the kitchen and associated areas such as stock rooms, food preparation areas and service points.
- Ensure that all fixtures and fittings are cleaned in accordance with a planned cleaning schedule.
- Effectively estimate expected food consumption to ensure minimal wastage.
- Effectively plan and organise food preparation to ensure that meals are ready when required.
