Job Overview:

This full-time position offers the opportunity to support participants in maintaining employment and assisting those who have experienced job loss in connecting with new opportunities. The Retention Specialist plays a critical role in empowering individuals on their career journeys through coaching, workshops, and personalized guidance.

The position includes the potential for a hybrid schedule, allowing up to two remote workdays per week post-training. Performance metrics must be maintained, and remote work eligibility is subject to program needs. Ideal candidates have a background in customer service or sales and are bilingual in Spanish.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate workshops for program participants on employment skills, including resume writing and interview preparation.
  • Identify and match job-ready individuals with employment opportunities that align with their preferences, experience, and qualifications.
  • Achieve a monthly target of placing at least 10 participants into part-time or full-time roles (minimum 20 hours/week) at or above New York City's minimum wage.
  • Provide individual coaching to clients on job search strategies and interview techniques.
  • Conduct regular follow-ups and outreach to program participants to track their employment progress.
  • Monitor participant attendance in training sessions and notify case management staff of non-attendance, if applicable.
  • Continuously assess participant progress and adjust support as needed to ensure knowledge retention and applied understanding.
  • Maintain accurate records of participant progress and report outcomes to leadership.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Associate's degree in training, communication, business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong ability to manage multiple tasks and drive results.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to effectively engage with diverse populations.
