Overview:
We are recruiting for a DIRECTOR: GROUP FINANCIAL PLANNING AND ANALYSIS (FP&A) to be based on site in the City of London within a large International Chemical Manufacturer.
This role offers full time hours and is an initial 7-month contract (from 1st October 2019 up until 30th April 2020) with possibility of extension.
Job Purpose:
To provide thought leadership and insightful analysis supporting the delivery of Group performance and strategy. Own the Strategic Plan (with Group Strategy) and 3 Year Budget.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Responsible for the Group strategic financial planning process, including upside and downside, scenario planning and sensitivity analysis
- Accountable for the Group annual financial budgeting process, ensuring alignment with strategic plan
- Responsible for the clear articulation of Sector and Group performance
- Responsible for business partners covering Information Technology and Global Procurement, providing strategic guidance and development of the individuals
- Determine areas and options for improved performance
- Define financial KPI's and ensure a robust process is in place for accurate reporting, for example margin, working capital efficiency and return on capital
- Identify gaps to budget and lead on identifying opportunities and driving completion
- Accountable for tracking working capital performance, understanding drivers for variation compared to targets Identify opportunities to improve working capital with the Sector teams
- Understand drivers of profitability, balance sheet and cash flow and work with Investor Relations to articulate these internally and externally
- Provide analysis and insight for Sector and Group improvement programmes/initiatives
- Responsible for Profit, Working Capital, Capital and Cash forecasting at Group level
- Build excellent relationships with finance teams across the global business in order to fully understand the management information required and the purpose of it
- Review management information being requested from different teams and constantly look for opportunities to share best practice, enhance the quality of the reports, and improve consistency, using automation where appropriate
- Provide commercially adept analysis to support external announcements and ad-hoc projects
- Lead, motivate and provide best practice to the virtual global FP&A team
Qualifications/Candidate Specification:
Essential:
- Previous Director level FP&A experience
- Degree level qualification or qualified by experience
- Significant and substantial experience in Finance function preferably in a large corporate organisation
- Astute commercial and business acumen
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent communication and influencing skills
Advantageous:
- Professional accounting qualification e.g. ACA, CIMA or equivalent
- Fluency in languages additional to English
