The UK's trusted Ministry of Defence partner, MBDA, are looking for a skilled Electrical Architect/Engineer to perform all aspects of missile development, from the early concept studies to series production and in-service support. It's an excellent opportunity for someone wanting to build on their engineering experience.

As an Electrical Architect/Engineer with previous abilities, you will play a vital role responsible for the electrical architecture and missile and associated launcher systems requirements.

What we're looking for:

  • Technical Experience Required: Electrical/Electronics/Systems engineering (Essential)
  • Interfaces; Data communication
  • Knowledge of defence/industry standards, etc.
  • HND or Degree level qualification in a related subject. Ideally, this would be within a defence-related background; however, experience within other engineering industries may be considered.

Experience within these other areas is also of interest but not essential

  • Power supplies; Sensors; Actuators
  • Health Usage Monitoring Systems (HUMS)
  • ATEX regulations.

What you'll get to do as an Electrical Architect/Engineer:

  • Defining the optimum electrical architecture against requirements
  • Establishing the power architecture, including power budget and power profiles
  • Signal safety design, including routing of safety-related signals
  • Defining interface definitions and characteristics between subsystems/equipment
  • Determining requirements for EMC, bonding, grounding, and screening
  • Supporting test activities during integration and system qualification
  • Reviewing and authoring guidelines/processes and attend and support design reviews

Alternatively, acting as the Equipment Manager (RMO) for specific electrical/electronic equipment(s), you will:

  • Project manage the equipment(s) on behalf of the project during development, qualification, and manufacture
  • Produce Statement(s) of Work for the associated design authority
  • Technically manage internal & external suppliers to deliver the equipment(s) work packages to time, cost, quality, and performance requirements.
  • Review qualification verification evidence and control assigned budget(s) for both activities and manage your workload.

This role is based at MBDA's headquarters in Stevenage which plays a key part in missiles operations. The site also offers excellent transportation links and boasts an onsite gym and coffee shop. Training and development are offered to all employees.
