Overview:

We are recruiting for an ELECTRICAL UTILITIES & GAS SERVICES COORDINATOR on behalf of our client, an international Chemical Manufacturing company based in Teesdale.

This role offers full time hours (37.5 hours per week), 5 days per week (including 1 in 3 weekends) on a rotating pattern of day shifts, running between 08:00 - 16:30.

Salary on offer is £19.70 per hour and the initial contract is available until December 2020 with possibility of extension.

Brief:

The successful candidate will coordinate the gas services and utilities; providing specialist Electrical or Mechanical support in the operations, maintenance and troubleshooting of site utility equipment across Teesdale in a safe, cost effective and efficient manner to meet customer and legislative requirements.

Assumes the "Site Incident Controller" responsibility and is a member of the Chilton Emergency Response Team (all work to be carried out during regular shifts - no out of hours work required).

Duties:

  • Owning and operating essential site utility equipment including all gas services (both bulk and speciality gases, including the large-scale preparation of high pressure single and mixed gas supplies), utilities plant and equipment.
  • Maintaining operations to ensure safe and uninterrupted essential services for 24/7 operation.
  • Site Incident Controller responsibility and member of the Emergency Response Team for Chilton, as per the Site Emergency Plan.
  • Performing compliance testing of site utility equipment, including safety critical system inspection and calibration to meet the requirements of company safety policy and legislative guidelines & be Responsible for the sign-off of inspection test records.
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting non-optimal utility services, monitoring of site usage, acting upon changes and working with customers to improve OEE, minimise production costs and ensure transparency in utility cost allocation.
  • Managing external suppliers to deliver bottled and bulk gases to maintain an uninterrupted service and working pro-actively with R&D customers to meet gas supply requirements.
  • Maintaining appropriate relationships with contractors, tenants, suppliers and the research communities.
  • Responsible for the management of contractors and third-party organisations on behalf of Site Services and Projects Teams.
  • Ensuring operations, projects and maintenance work is executed to Site Safety Requirements.
  • Supporting the annual maintenance site shutdowns (throughout Teesdale) to ensure essential works are carried out with minimal disruption to business and experimental operations.
  • Issuance of high hazard permits as well as monitoring high hazard activity operations including asbestos removal, lifting operations and hot work & "permits to work".

Ideal Candidate:

  • Will be a qualified Electrical Engineer - HND, BSc, Apprentice Trained etc.
  • Experience as an Electrical Utilities & Gas Services Coordinator or equivalent
  • Significant hands on Electrical Engineering experience; troubleshooting, inspection, testing and repairing
  • Experience working with HV infrastructure
  • Experience working within Oil & Gas, Chemical Manufacturing or Pharmaceutical industries
