The UK's trusted Ministry of Defence partner, MBDA, are looking for an experienced Electronic Architect (Level 5) to define and design the technical solutions for MBDA's high-quality, precision product range.

As an Electronic Architect, the successful candidate will define prospective approaches and strategies for all the Electronic Products and solutions based on research and development activities, which will be an essential part of the role.

What we're looking for:

Educated to degree level (or an equivalent qualification), with an Electronics proclivity, including obtained significant experience in the following areas of Systems Engineering and relevant:

  • Digital electronics and microprocessor systems (Essential)
  • Power electronics for distributed power networks (Essential)
  • Design of equipment for safety-critical environments and Design of equipment for handling sensitive customer data (Essential)
  • Knowledge and provide demonstrations of software and firmware development techniques
  • Compact packaging and thermal management techniques for complex high-performance electronic equipment.
  • Beneficial exemplify some knowledge of internal computing design covering System on Chip technologies, RF, Signal Processing and Software Defined Radio in addition to EMC and Environmental design experience.

What you'll get to do as an Electronic Architect:

  • Define the electronic and electrical architecture of the equipment and the research and decomposition to the lower-level requirements for the sub-elements that meet challenging client requirements within the constraints of limited physical space and intense operating environments.
  • Managing all technical elements of Electronic Equipment, working collaboratively with the Engineering Project Manager to ensure the 'On Time, On Cost, On Quality' delivery of the technical solution.
  • Interacting with stakeholders and customers.
  • Robust decision-making strategies and be adaptable in an ever-changing and challenging environment.
