The UK's trusted Ministry of Defence partner, MBDA, are looking for an experienced Electronics Design Engineer working with other engineers with a collective wealth of experience across various technologies and products. The successful candidate would work collaboratively to support the team, ensuring improvement opportunities and best practices based at the Stevenage site.
As an Electronic Design Engineer, the candidate will be part of a friendly and supportive team. Play a vital role in ensuring the team integrate knowledge with previous talent.
What you'll get to do as an Electronic Design Engineer (L4):
- Working with other engineers with a collective wealth of experience across a broad range of technologies and products and are happy to share their knowledge to support one another, ensuring opportunities for improvement are identified, and best practice is upheld.
- Support RF testing, Trials, Data Reception via Satellite / Satcom, and Design and deployment of sizeable hardware systems.
- Performing with multiple antenna types and sizes and terrestrial and SatCom VSAT Ground stations.
- Liaise with partner organisations, agencies, MoD, etc., to support/develop or demonstrate capability and solutions.
- High degree of hands-on Electrical and Mechanical activities, from Data connection to redesign and fit-out of Military-Technical Shelter/ Teleport.
What we're looking for:
- Ideally, a degree qualified with significant post qualification experience in Electronic Design, development, and delivery.
- Experience in Satcom or Satellite Communication.
- Experience in RF connectivity, Cabling and Path Losses etc.
- Experience in Data Systems connectivity, Fibre Optic Cabling, and interfacing.
- Basic Networking structure and management.
- Electrical systems experience in Power Distribution, Earthing and laying on services to remote equipment.
- Setting up RF antenna Measurement structures for outdoor Ranges and compiling reports on performance and characteristics.
- Knowledge of Defence-related methods and preparation for Trials / Remote Testing using MoD ranges is advantageous.
- Experience or familiarity with Working at Heights would be advantageous for installing/adjusting antenna systems.
- You must be a UK national or citizen to be eligible for the role.
