EMEA Infrastructure Operations Manager

Contract role: 12 months, daily rate

Dublin - Corporate Office based - 3-4 days per week min in office

PLEASE Note that we are not looking for an Infrastructure IT Project Manager or Program Manager for this role - it is very much focussed on overseeing post-implementation Infrastructure Operations.

Reporting Directly into the Global Infrastructure Ops Manager, your primary responsibilities will be as the SPOC, overseeing all Operational requirements for the Infrastructure Ops Division (Hosting, Networks & Cloud services) for the EMEA region, within a multi-vendor, global organisation, across all sites (manufacturing, sales & corporate functional offices).

Your core role will focus on managing, challenging and overseeing the MSP's, providing operational activities across the EMEA business in hosting & cloud services. The main technical focus will be on core Infrastructure - Virtualisation (VMware, Hyper-V), Servers (Windows & Linux), and Cloud Services (AWS, Azure & Google) to manufacturing, software engineering, corporate and all other business functions internally within this multinational organisation.

The scale of the role is extensive & critical - You will be co-ordinating the technical activities of over 200+ technical resources provided by external service providers/MSP partners across the EMEA region.

You will oversee and optimize infrastructure operations services across multiple data centers and sites across the EMEA region, utilising managed service providers, ensuring the strategic direction and efficient management of operational activities & maintaining operational excellence, adherence to ITIL processes, financial management and driving continuous improvement.

Essential Expertise Required:

• Degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Information Systems, or related field
• Extensive experience in infrastructure operations and in the management of such environments at a European or large, matrix environment scale
• Proven expertise in Infrastructure hosting, network and cloud platforms
• You must have a track record of managing infrastructure components including compute, operating systems, active directory, storage, virtualization, networking, WAN and cloud technologies for general Data Centre and local hosting environments
• You must have led server migration projects and overseen operational environments to ensure successful execution for hosted services, needing technical knowledge in data center architecture, design, development and operations across large-scale hosting environments
• Technical Expertise in VMWare ESXi technologies is essential, as is the maintenance of Windows server, VMware / Hyper V virtualisation technologies and Linux environments
• Project management methodologies and tools
• Industry IT certifications (esp in ITIL, VMware, AWS or Azure Cloud) is highly desirable
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  

Contract Duration = 12 months, with an expectation to convert to a permanent position

Contract rate = €600 per day range

Please note that you MUST have EU/EEA/UK citizenship or hold a current valid work visa for Ireland. NO Sponsorship considered.

Also, you MUST be based in Dublin or within a daily commute, as the client has a need for the person to be present in their Dublin European HQ offices at least 3-4 days per week.
