Guidant are currently looking for Exam invigilators for monthly ad hoc work, as an Exam Invigilator you will be required to be available to carry out 3 hour sessions doing the following duties:
Job description
Specific duties of the engagement are as follows:
- To follow the 'Instructions to Invigilators' and Supervisors' issued.
- To prepare the examination hall checking that no extraneous material is present, including checking all facilities before and during the examination session.
- To lay out papers and answer booklets and ensuring that conditions are suitable for the examination take place.
- To ensure that students deposit all materials other than those specifically allowed for in the regulations in an appropriate part of the room.
- To assist with checking candidate identities and completing attendance records.
- To ensure the Students with alternative exam arrangements are in place and that the students are dealt with sympathetically and appropriately.
- To escort candidates on toilet visits.
- To ensure that the checks are made for items that are brought into the examination hall under the "permitted requirements" i.e. Law Statute Books and calculators where applicable
- To remain vigilant and watch out for potential examination irregularities and to report anything untoward to the supervisor of the examination venue.
- To collect all scripts and other relevant material at the end of the examination and deal with them appropriately including disposing of materials according to instructions given.
- To retain occurrences in the examination room as confidential.
