The role
The Family Support Volunteers Service is an Early Intervention Service that supports families in West Dunbartonshire and Inverclyde.
We are looking for a family support practitioner to work as part of our team to start up and establish our brand new PIMH (Perinatal Infant Mental Health) service. This is a fantastic opportunity to engage with families and make a real difference in the community.
You will be initially helping in the recruitment and training of volunteers for the service, supporting families with mental health needs and creating individualised packages of support. Ongoing support will then be provided for families as required. There will be keyworker responsibilities.
Part of this role requires you to be based in a local primary primary school 2 days per week and be involved in ocassional group work.
You will make a difference by:
-Working with a family's, assessing their individual needs to devise a personalised programme of support
-Training and developing volunteers
-Delivering parenting groups, encouraging positive parenting
-Helping them access our services across the area
You will need:
-SVQ in Social Care or equivalent.
-A proven track record of working directly with young people and their family's.
-A strong understanding safeguarding.
-A strong work ethic and the ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
