Finance Assistant
Part time 2.5 days per week
Examples of the financial experience we are looking for are:
- Understanding financial rules and regulations
- Understanding budgets
- Understanding purchase orders, the things to check, keeping records
- Understanding payment of invoices , the things to check, keeping records
- Accounting software e.g. SAP
- How they would resolve queries/problems
- Completing recharges, keeping records
- Checking information
- How they would ensure accuracy
- Meeting deadlines
- End of financial year work
- The different types of accruals.
MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Deliver financial and administrative support efficiently within the team as required.
Support the provision of timely, accurate and business focused financial advice.
Process, record and maintain precise and timely financial data.
Assist in the production of financial management information to meet the needs of budget managers, making use of standard IT packages to produce basic reports.
Demonstrate an understanding of basic finance policies; bring to the attention of the senior staff/manager, any emerging issues within allocated areas of work.
Liaise and work closely with colleagues across the Technology Department and Central Finance to enable budget holders and managers to meet their service delivery targets and manage their budgets.
Contribute to the identification and realisation of opportunities for service improvement and increased efficiency.
