MBDA, an esteemed partner of the UK Ministry of Defence, are searching for a highly skilled FPGA Design Engineer with a minimum of 4+ years of experience. The chosen candidate will play a critical role in aiding the development of intricate FPGA projects in our client's portfolio, which comprises cutting-edge signal processing systems (Image/Radio), embedded processing systems at the core, and safety-critical systems.

This position will require the candidate to work on all facets of the FPGA design and verification cycle with confidence and expertise.

What we're looking for:

  • Degree-qualified (or equivalent) candidates with significant experience in FPGA development.
  • Proficient in VHDL language and Design Skills. (*Essential)
  • Proficient in verification skills using VHDL and SystemVerilog methodologies. (*Essential)
  • Extensive experience designing for Xilinx, Intel, or Microsemi FPGAs.
  • Experience in professional configuration and documentation of designs.
  • Experience working as part of a large multidisciplinary team.

What you'll get to do as a FPGA Design Engineer:

  • Generate complex FPGA architectures and design implementations (VHDL, Simulink, etc.) for Xilinx, Intel, and Microsemi devices. (*Essential)
  • Verify complex FPGA implementations using VHDL and System Verilog/UVM test-bench methodologies.
  • Utilize FPGA design toolsets and Mentor verification tools (QuestaSim & ModelSim).
  • Develop low-level software (C) to facilitate FPGA testing and integration with embedded systems.
  • Configure and document designs to a high professional standard.
  • Collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver FPGA-based projects.
