Guidant Global is working with the UK's trusted Ministry of Defence partner, MBDA, seeking a skilled Goods Inwards Inspector to ensure that goods received from suppliers meet the criteria of the purchase order and are compliant in all respects at the Bolton site.

What we're looking for:

  • It is essential to provide a copy of your certificate for a formal technical engineering/craft apprenticeship that is at least NVQ Level 3/TR23/TR21 or HNC.
  • Formal further education certificate to HNC or equivalent certification.
  • Manual handling; ESD training.
  • SAP literate is desirable.
  • Must have inspection experience in a goods-in environment (highly essential).
  • Stores experience is highly required (mechanical inspector irrelevant)

What you'll get to do as a Goods Inwards Inspector:

  • Ensure that the product received meets the conditions set out in the contract and accepts it accordingly.
  • Interpreting assembly drawings and comprehending dimensional tolerances and machining requirements.
  • Inspecting all parts to identify any issues with the finish, such as faulty painting or deterioration of surfaces.
  • Undertaking first off inspections.
  • Generate the necessary inspection and quality control documentation.
  • Prevent defective items from being mixed with good products, separate them, and ensure inspection deadlines are fulfilled.
  • Create and manage defect reports and uphold the approval process for product verification through routine audits.
  • Inspection of PCBs.
  • Ensure to adhere to all pertinent manufacturing process procedures to maintain compliance and promote a safe and organised work environment.
