Overview:

We are recruiting for a Graduate Business Analyst - Finance to join an International Chemical Manufacturer based in Royston, Hertfordshire.

This is a 12-month, full time contract starting in January 2020.

Salary of approximately £30,000 per annum on offer.

Job Purpose:

To analyse and report business data, thus providing accurate and timely information that enables operational decision-making over short to medium term periods.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Collect, compile, verify and present business data so that management has timely information for operational decision making.
  • Maintains, tracks and presents a broad range of defined business metrics for the Global Business to enable measurement and improvement of business performance.
  • Creates and maintains a demand planning model for the Global business, linking into monthly sales forecasting and annual budgeting process.
  • Reporting on Global Customer Performance through volume and revenue analyses.
  • Through the collation and analysis of data, supporting the metal governance framework.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the profitability of the business through data analysis.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Trading Operations, Finance, back office and Commercial teams to enable the data analysis as required by the business.
  • Supports internal and external Commercial teams with ad-hoc data requests.
  • Ensures information is appropriately communicated within the business.
  • Participates in basic business analysis projects.
  • Suggests improvements to existing methods/systems/processes.

Candidate Specification:

  • Degree level qualification in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science or related field
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to collate and analyse large data sets
  • 1+ years in a commercial environment
  • Knowledge of databases, computer programming/coding and or computer science (advantageous not essential)
  • Must have a high attention to detail and be able to prioritise conflicting tasks
