Guidant Global are recruiting on behalf of UCL a Head of Brand in London on a 6-month full time temporary contract.
The Head of Brand is a strategically important leadership role within VPEE, responsible for delivering a new brand framework for UCL that includes a revised brand governance structure; enhanced brand experience across our estate and digital platforms; discovering our future brand visual and narrative by reviewing stakeholder perceptions of our brand and tracking and measuring our brand power.
In this role, you can expect to:
- Reporting to the Director of Faculty Marketing and working in partnership with senior colleagues within the External Engagement portfolio, the Head of Brand will help shape and be responsible for implementing UCL's strategic brand framework consisting of four key workstreams to include, Governance, Experience, Discovery and Tracking.
- Working in partnership with key internal and external stakeholders, the role holder ensures that strategic priorities and pan-UCL projects inform and align with the overall UCL brand.
- The Head of Brand will be both guardian and governor for the UCL Brand, ensuring the maintenance of UCL brand identity standards, architecture, narrative, sign off process and guidelines across UCL and its relevant suppliers.
- They will line manage a team of Brand Executives who interface across UCL proactively and productively.
- They will lead a matrix team across VPEE to help deliver the brand framework, reporting on progress to the Brand Board and acting as deputy for the Director of Faculty Marketing on all brand related matters.
- Work effectively with the Director of Faculty Marketing to shape, develop and implement the new Brand Framework strategy for UCL.
- Lead the strategy for Brand Governance across UCL which includes development of the UCL brand narrative for key audiences, managing the visual identity, creating simplified brand tools and templates, enhanced brand guidance and training stakeholders on the importance of brand and how to effectively represent UCL brand.
- Set and implement procedures for UCL's brand governance, including sign off approval process for brand use with internal and external stakeholders, working proactively with
other areas of the university, Legal Services, subsidiaries, Vice president offices and VPEE.
We're Looking for candidates who have:
- Demonstrated experience in communications, brand, or marketing agency or complex, stakeholder environment - Essential.
- Experience of marketing and branding within a higher education context - Desirable
- Demonstrated proficiency in developing brand strategies and campaigns - Essential
- Proven track record of successfully leading, managing, and motivating high performing teams that deliver excellent outputs - Essential
- Ability to plan, priorities and manage resources effectively to achieve long term objectives - Essential
- Will inspire confidence in delivery, with the drive and desire to get ahead of internal customers needs -Essential
- Making evidence -based, timely decision - Essential
- Financial and Project management skills, including the ability to manage and monitor budgets and allocate resources effectively.
