We are recruiting a Homeownership Officer to join the team.

You will provide expert advice and support to Hyde's homeowners, tenants and internal stakeholders on a variety of processes relating to home owner legislation and Hyde's leases. This includes but is not limited to Right to Buy/Acquire, Resales, Section 20s & Homeowner Alterations. You will regularly liaise with local stakeholders to help residents meet their tenancy and lease obligations to provide a high quality service to residents, responding to correspondence in line with Customer Promises.

Experience: Knowledge of the key current issues affecting the housing sector is essential to providing our service. Minimum 2 years experience currently in the sector.

Duties of a Homeownership Officer:

  • Respond to general correspondence and enquiries from leaseholders, their agents and other departments within the business.
  • Obtain information from the Land Registry including ownership, charges, covenants (TR1), leases and copies of plans.
  • Responsible for preparing responses to pre-assignment and re-mortgage enquiries and the administration of completion statements ensuring that service charge revenue is secured.
  • Responsible for processing notice of charge, notice of assignment, deed of covenant and applications for landlord's consent, deeds of variation and assuming responsibility for complex solicitor enquiries to ensure that we comply with all relevant legislation regarding leasehold management.
  • Effectively deal with enquiries from solicitors, mortgage companies, including preparing pre assignment information, notice of assignment, notice of charge (internal/external), deeds of covenant and deeds of variation.
  • Assist with the preparation and issuing of Section 20 consultation notices in accordance with statutory consultation requirements.
  • Process Right to Buy/acquire, Right to Manage, Lease Extension and Collective Enfranchisement applications in line with the relevant legislation.
