The HR Advisor will be providing day to day guidance, advise and coaching on complex employee relations issues to employees and people managers within a specified business area. Reporting to the HR Advisory Team Lead, the team will deliver a pragmatic, commercially focused HR advisory service that enables people managers deliver their objectives, giving their team members a great employee experience.

Duties -

Support managers at all levels, by providing consistent and effective advice on employment legislation and its application across employee relations (disciplinary and grievance), absence management, occupational health and wellbeing, performance improvement capability management.

* Advise and influence all levels of management on people management and leadership with a focus on performance management, organisational development and effectiveness, and management effectiveness.

* Support organisation design and development initiatives i.e., restructures, redundancies and TUPEs by working with business leaders, HR Managers/Senior HRBPs, and the Union.

* Influence and coach business leaders and people managers in the delivery of key HR activities to develop leadership skills and people management capability.

* Partner with local Learning and Development, Talent and Employment Services teams to effectively onboard new employees. Also continually review our onboarding processes looking at ways to improve new employee experience.

* Partner with business leaders and HR Specialist areas (COEs) to design, plan, and implement broad HR programs, policies, and procedures in support of JM's HR goals.

* Appropriately assess risk when employee relations decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for JM's reputation, its clients, and assets, by driving compliance with applicable employment laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behaviours, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

* Collaborate closely with local HR Managers and Senior HR Business Partners in defining and driving the HR advisory related activities that will deliver the business goals. Also support with cyclical HR activities relating to appraisals, personal development plans, talent management and global Page 2/4 grading.

* Build and maintain effective relationships across the organisation, working closely with business leaders and people managers and seeking regular feedback to ensure that the requirements of the business are being met.

* Embrace digital technology and the use of HR systems to simplify and automate transactional processes, to maximise efficiency and employee experience.

* Collect, analyse, and provide all relevant stakeholders with monthly insights into casework and HR advisory activity in line with agreed KPIs.

* Undertake ad hoc project work and provide project support to the broader People Services Team.

skills/experience required -

Educated to degree level or equivalent

HR professional qualification (e.g. CIPD)- desirable

Working knowledge of UK employment law
