Dublin - Corporate Office based - 5 days per week (No remote working)


Reporting Directly into the Global Infrastructure Ops Manager, your primary responsibilities as Infrastructure Operations Manager will encompass hosting, network and cloud infrastructure duties within the Global IT Operations team.
You will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficiency, reliability and performance of This Organisation's Data Centre hosting and cloud operations underpinning the manufacturing and technology services operations, within a Global, matrixed environment.

You will oversee and optimize infrastructure operations services across multiple data centers and sites across the EMEA region, utilising managed service providers, ensuring the strategic direction and efficient management of operational activities & maintaining operational excellence, adherence to ITIL processes, financial management and driving continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:


  1. Serve as a point of escalation for resolving complex issues and requests from the business community, especially pertaining to incident management processes across all hosting and cloud services.
    2. Lead change management approvals within the environment, ensuring minimal disruption to operations for all critical hosted services.
    3. Oversee and ensure the effectiveness of ITIL processes including Service Catalog Management, Availability Management, Capacity Management, Service Level Management, Asset Management, Release Management, and Configuration Management, covering both SAP and other hosted environments.
    4. Manage service targets to meet agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) across all hosting and cloud services.
    5. Accountable for financial management for all critical hosting infrastructure, collaborating with managed service providers to meet financial commitments.
    6. Provide feedback on supplier performance to the supplier management teams, covering all aspects of hosting and cloud services.
    7. Collaborate with Architect teams to develop IT standards and strategy, ensuring alignment with hosting and cloud requirements.
    8. Assist in testing disaster recovery and business continuity plans for hosted services.
    9. Approve and allocate funding for service requests, prioritizing based on business impact for hosted environments.
    10. Oversee infrastructure components including compute, operating systems, active directory, storage, virtualization, networking, WAN and cloud technologies for general Data Centre and local hosting environments.
    11. Lead server migration projects and ensure successful execution for hosted services.
    12. Implement and manage backup and monitoring software solutions, ensuring comprehensive coverage for all hosted systems.
    13. Utilize expertise in VMWare ESXi technologies to optimize infrastructure performance for both hosted workloads.
    14. Demonstrate proficiency in data center architecture, design, development and operations across all EMEA hosting environments

Essential Expertise Required:

  • Degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Information Systems, or related field
  • Extensive experience in infrastructure operations and in the management of such environments at a multinational scale
  • Proven expertise in hosting, network and cloud platforms
  • Technical knowledge of maintaining Windows, VMware and Linux environments
  • Project management methodologies and tools
  • Industry IT certifications (e.g., ITIL, VMware, AWS)
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills

Contract role - €600 per day

Please note that you MUST have EU/EEA/UK citizenship or hold a current valid work visa for Ireland. NO Sponsorship considered.

Also, you MUST be based in Dublin or within a short commute, as the client requires the contract resource to be on-site in Dublin offices full-time (5 days per week)
