In IR35 £30.78/Per Hour; up to £38.95/Per Hour (PAYE & Umbrella available)

37 hours; FT (Hybrid work 1-2 DPW)

MBDA, a trusted partner of the UK Ministry of Defence, are currently seeking an experienced Interconnects Design Engineer to create bespoke cable designs for power, signal & data transmission.

What we're looking for:

• Cable/Harness design
• Experience using HarnWare, E3, or a similar CAD package is beneficial.
• Experience on HarnWare, E3 or similar CAD package advantageous.
• Product life cycle awareness
• To ensure compliance with Military Defence Standards and cable harness manufacturers (IPC-WHMA-A-620C), it is essential to have a good understanding of D38999 connectors.
• Understanding / hands-on experience with flexible circuits.
• Ability to define cable construction based upon electrical constraints (Current, screening, signal types, volt drop, EMC and environmental requirements);
• Working collaboratively with mechanical and electronic designers, as well as project managers, in an effective manner.
• Appreciation of Interconnect production/process engineering
• Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills and solid time management abilities, allowing for adapting to changing requirements and meeting deadlines.

What you'll get to do as an Interconnects Design Engineer:

• Responsible for interpreting the requirements of the sub-system and creating electrical schematics and cable design definitions on CAD software.
• Conducting investigations on cable issues and developing solutions individually or as part of a team.
• Liaison with manufacturing to resolve manufacturing problems and defects, plus support to functional and environmental trials.
