Role Title: Interim Domestic Abuse Commissioner
Pay rate: Quote per person
Hours: Ideally full time (flexible)
Location: Remote with the possibility of some occasional travel to Brighton for face to face meetings
Our client have a new need to fill the position of an Interim Domestic Abuse commissioner for a 6-9 month project. This will be to predominantly lead on the commissioning and oversight of services in relation to domestic violence and domestic abuse. This post will report to the Head of Safer Communities within Housing, Neighbourhoods & Communities.
The central focus of this role is:
- Assess the need for accommodation-based support for all victims/survivors and their children, including those who require cross border support.
- Prepare and publish strategies for the provision of support to cover the locality and diverse groups of victims.
- Give effect to strategies by making commissioning/de-commissioning decisions to meet the support needs of victims and their children.
- Monitor and evaluate local delivery of the strategy.
- Report back to Central Government
Essential criteria for the role
- Experience of working with victims of domestic abuse and the implications of that
- Experience of writing and developing Policies
- Ability to engage with the third sector and activists
Desirable criteria
- Commissioning experience
