The role

As the IT Field Engineer you will need to have working experience in a field based IT support role with a flexible can-do attitude, excellent communication skills and the ability to diagnose and solve complex IT issues. You will need to hold a full UK driving licence and be prepared to travel throughout your geographical area providing face to face technical support including break fix, troubleshooting telephony and structured cabling issues, auditing, and managing the commissioning/decommissioning of local IT services and equipment.
This role will be home based with an element of flexibility required as site visits will need to take place across the country.
You will make a difference by:
- Representing a professional front facing service to Action for Children staff across all geographies and levels and in so doing, to promote the values of the brand.
- Taking responsibility for attending remote service sites and providing technical support.
- Attending site during project openings / closure to commission and de-commission centrally controlled IT equipment.
- Providing basic user training / familiarisation as required.
- Developing strong relationships with remote service users and being the Ambassador for the Action for Children IT department and contributing to continuous-improvement programs for the department in partnership with other staff.
- Developing strong relationships with internal IT teams to ensure information flows both ways and working collaboratively with stakeholders to provide the efficient, effective and innovative use of IT within their functions, to improve the outcomes for children and young people and increase income generation.
You will need:
- Experience in a field based IT support role with exceptional customer service skills and expertise in troubleshooting, diagnosing and solving complex IT issues.
- Proficient technical knowledge of MS-Windows operating system, MS Office suite, Office 365, Azure and Active Directory.
- Demonstrates an understanding of security and data protection standards and legislation.
- Full Clean UK driving Licence.
- Must be eligible for business insurance due to company car policy.
- ITIL Qualification would be an advantage.
