The Role
A modern nursery for the under 5s, providing an energetic and inclusive environment for children to discover their individuality and confidence before going to school; a safe place for them to freely explore. We can only do this if we have the right Early Years Professionals working for us. That includes a Kitchen Assistant who can help provide the children with a healthy and happy environment. Being part of the nursery team, you will adhere to our Healthy eating menus, oversee, plan,order and prepare meals for service users, ensuring that hygiene standards are met.
You will make a difference by
-Planning exciting meals, that are nutritious, varied and tasty, taking into account the children's dietary and cultural requirements.
-Taking full responsibility for compliance with all relevant food hygiene and Health & Safety requirements.
-Ensuring that all stock is order and replenished as needed, that food is correctly stored in line with guidance and that stock is rotated and all equipment is kept clean and in good repair.
-Keeping waste to a minimum, ensuring our impact on the environment is as minimal as it can be.
-Managing the food budget and taking responsibility for the expenditure and invoicing.
-Always following latest legislation in relation to food and food hygiene, and taking part in all necessary and required training as needed.
-Being passionate about food and offering the best meals possible to our children.
What you will need
-A Basic Food Hygiene Certificate or a willingness to achieve.
-Experience of meal planning and stock control.
-Desirable: Experience of working in an Early Years childcare setting or a setting working with children aged 0-5 years in a food preparation capacity.
