Hertfordshire County Council are looking for Locum Educational Psychologists to join their team.
The locum EP's will only be allocated statutory work by Hertfordshire County Council.
The idea will be that these candidates will be approached for work during peak times throughout the remainder of this academic year.
The successful candidate(s) will be required to commit to a minimum of 4 x ECHP advices per month. Those workers that cannot commit to this as a minimum would not be suitable at this time.
Pay Rate:
LTD/UMBRELLA: £450 per day
Job Specification:
To work within an integrated practice framework and as part of Integrated Services for
Learning. The post holder will demonstrate due regard to professional practice
standards and codes of conduct. Adhering to service and Local Authority policies, the
post holder will provide quality assured independent preventative and statutory advice
to improve outcomes for vulnerable children and young people, particularly those with
SEND (0-25).
To work with parents, carers, families, a diverse range of settings (including educational
establishments such as maintained, Academy and Free Schools, Early Years settings
including Children's Centres, Colleges, Children's Homes) and other local community
groupings to ensure vulnerable young people's life experiences are optimized with a
clear focus on outcomes for them and for their family.
To provide robust, reflective, informed and high quality educational psychology support.
This includes ensuring knowledge and skills continue to develop and the post holder is
able to formulate hypotheses based on presenting evidence. The post holder must be a
research/evidenced based practitioner in their practice. The post holder will be a
proactive member of the EPS to ensure learning is shared, reviewed and evaluated on a
regular basis.
Evidence of professional qualifications including a first degree, a professional doctorate
or Master's Degree in Educational Psychology (recognised by the British Psychological
Society), details of HCPC Registration and any other relevant professional qualifications.

During the current situation, workers are not required to conduct face to face meetings with any parties, however Hertfordshire will require all EP's to ensure work submitted is of a robust standard utilising all available tools to assess and provide thorough and triangulated advice
The EP's will be required to utilise their own tool/assessment library and whilst HCC do not specify what tools individuals have to use, they are happy to detail some platforms they are aware of providing ample quality to work:
- Hogrefe
- WPS
- Q-Global
EP's will be required to follow a Quality Assurance checklist prior to submitting their work for sign off to HCC. This will be provided by Guidant upon successful registration.
