We're currently recruiting on behalf of our client, an international eye care solutions company, for a Logistics Coordinator. On offer is a competitive rate of £13 per hour plus holiday pay. You'll be working in a modern office, based in Watchmoor Park in Camberley. The role is a 6 month temporary position, with a possibility of an extension or permanent opportunity.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead multiple weekly operational calls with third part Logistics Service Providers and courier companies. Address and resolve issues or escalate them if necessary. Implement improvements to the current processes
  • Monitoring and keeping a track of incoming deliveries into 3PL warehouse, ensuring that booked stock is visibile in SAP system with correct batches/serial numbers. Resolving logistics or system related issues in a timely manner
  • Working closely with 3PL and Alcon Customer Services on a daily Warehouse Failure Report. Demonstrate sense of urgency in resolving these queries so the customer order delayes are minimized
  • Executing number of daily task such as shipping labels for Channel Island customers, daily shipment tracking reports for key customers, other reports which provide visibility of Alcon operations and help make optimal business decisions
  • Working closely with freight forwarders and courier companies. Inform the business on any deviations to standard lead-times.
  • Monitoring open sales orders, for which outbound delivery documents have been created but they have not been confirmed by the warehouse as shipped. Taking action to minimize delay to customer orders

What skills should you be bringing?

We're ideally looking for someone with a customer service background who is driven, ambitious and is looking not only to succeed but progress within their new role.

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Self-starter able to collaborate as part of a busy all-star team
  • Experience in a FMCG, big organisation or Supply chain dealing with 3rd party providers is extremely desirable.
  • Knowledge of SAP is ideal and to be very familiar with excel (formulas etc) ideally using it daily, is key.
