Manufacturing Engineer - Assembly & Integration

Opportunity for contract extension or made permanent

In IR35 £26.04 - £26.98/hour PAYE; £34 - £36/hour (Umbrella rate)

Apprentice Certification required

37 hours; FT (Hybrid 3 DPW)

*Get up to £1,600 a month for accommodation if you do not live within 30 miles from Stevenage. Full apprenticeship required - this role requires all employees to achieve the appropriate clearance.

The UK's trusted Ministry of Defence partner, MBDA, are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer (Assembly and Integration) to be at the heart of the business in Stevenage to manufacture and assemble missiles.

As a Manufacturing Engineer with previous experience, the successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring products under their workstream are produced efficiently and within budget.

What we're looking for:

  • 5 years' experience within an engineering profession
  • Standard technical Engineering/Craft Apprenticeship to NVQ Level 3/TR23/TR21 or relevant and Standard additional education certificate to HNC or equivalent certification
  • Knowledge on analysing design drawings to produce manufacturing build instructions for skilled and semi-skilled operators
  • Experience of Electronic Sub Assembly manufacture through to System level builds and experience and knowledge of the assembly process for small/miniature Electro-Mechanical Actuation Systems
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work in a diverse team and ability to read, analyse and interpret documents for accuracy and compliance with Code
  • Must be able to work within and contribute to a team environment.
  • Have Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) training, SAP experience

What you'll get to do as a Manufacturing Engineer (Assembly and Integration)

  • Compile and update manufacturing instructions and design, commission and ascertain associated tooling
  • Support the industrial validation process by using Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEAs), First Article Inspection (FAI) and other relevant means
  • Resolve technical problems that may arise during the manufacturing process and update route card to reflect changes because of re-works in activities
  • Manage Configuration Control by the model of Design Modifications into the Manufacturing Instructions
  • Support the Non-Conformance Process using SAP
