Materials and Process Laboratory Technician

£35.29/hourly PAYE; up to £47.08/hourly (Umbrella rate)

The UK's trusted Ministry of Defence partner, MBDA, are looking for an experienced Materials & Process Laboratory Technician to perform PCB Quality Control tasks within a Laboratory environment supporting Production.
What we're looking for:
- Knowledge
- Two or more years of experience working in a manufacturing/laboratory environment
Qualifications
- Certification to IPC-600 for the acceptability of Printed Circuit Boards
- Formal training leading to a vocational qualification (ONC, City & Guilds, BTEC) in an engineering/science subject.
- Secondary level of education with several GCSE passes.

What you'll get to do as a Materials and Process Laboratory Technician:
- Booking in, recording, and monitoring of S103 (printed circuit boards and flexi-boards) incoming receipt inspection tasks.
- Performing visual inspection of incoming PCBs to IPC and MBDA requirements.
- Performing micro-section checks of PCBs to IPC and MBDA requirements.
- Operating XRF analysis equipment.
- Reporting assessment results and maintaining records of checks undertaken.
The candidate will ideally:
- Hold experience working in a laboratory environment assessing the quality of printed circuit boards/flexi boards.
- Demonstrate the ability to produce high-quality analysis in a production environment.
- Acquainted with engineering drawings and their interpretation.
- Ability to recognise and understand customer requirements and respond to them.
- Confidently communicate within the working group and at various organisation and supply chain levels.
