MBDA, the trusted partner of the UK Ministry of Defence, is currently seeking a skilled Mechanical Inspector to join our certification team at the Stevenage site. As a Mechanical Inspector, you will play a crucial role in authorizing the product in accordance with our product certification procedure.

What we're looking for:

Formal technical engineering/craft apprenticeship (TR23/TR21) or HNC qualification.

Proactive problem-solving skills and a strong commitment to teamwork and achieving business goals.

Significant experience in Mechanical Inspection.

Several years of experience as a skilled professional in the field.

Preferably IPC 610 certified/trained.

What you'll get to do as a Mechanical Inspector:

  • Thoroughly examine assembled parts to ensure correct assembly, identifying any faults in finishing, painting, or surface deterioration.
  • Conduct inspections for physical damage and perform intermediate checks to ensure product certification and approval through regular audits.
  • Monitor and oversee product certification operators, ensuring adherence to quality standards, and complete all associated paperwork, including manufacturing data packs, defect reports, and data records.
  • Segregate defective items from good products and maintain proper control over them.
  • Prepare inspection and quality control documentation, including history sheets, and utilize specialized inspection tools.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable procedures throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Uphold the highest standards of workmanship and product quality.
