Mechanical Manufacturing Technician

*Get up to £1,600 a month for accommodation if you do not live within 30 miles from the site. Full apprenticeship required - this role requires all employees to achieve the appropriate clearance.

Our client, a trusted partner of the UK's Ministry of Defence, is seeking a Mechanical Manufacturing Technician to work at the core of the business and be responsible for manufacturing and assembling missiles.

The Manufacturing Technician, a skilled craftsman with years of experience in electrical manufacturing, is responsible for reporting to the Team Leader. The Technician's duties include assembly, inspection, and testing.

What we're looking for:

  • Standard technical engineering/craft apprenticeship to NVQ Level 3/TR23/TR21 (Apprenticeship relevant to the role)
  • Formal further education certificate to HNC or equivalent Certification.
  • Demonstrate planning, organising skills, adaptability, and flexibility.
  • Team player resilience with customer focus efforts.
  • Experience as a skilled person and ESD training.

What you'll get to do as a Mechanical Manufacturing Technician:

  • Certifying the product and possessing a versatile skill base, with a capability to apply their skills across a scope of tasks
  • Utilising equipment and tools, gauges and measuring instruments associated with the production, repair, and modification of company products.
  • Certify the product in line with the product certification procedure and maintain product certification and approval via regular audits.
  • Be fully conversant with all equipment, tools and measuring instruments.
  • Ensure manufacturing build, inspection, and test times meet relevance and meet defined build standards and specification requirements.
  • Check and complete all paperwork associated with the manufacturing data pack.
  • Maintain the highest level, workmanship standards and product quality.
  • Ensure compliance with all associated procedures applicable to the manufacturing process.
