A Defence & Missile client, which is a trusted partner of the UK Ministry of Defence, is currently seeking an experienced Test Architect to join their team in Stevenage. The selected candidate will be responsible for defining and managing the requirements for Test Equipment and Test Specifications. This is a crucial role that requires someone with a strong skillset and attention to detail.
What we're looking for:
- Ideally educated to degree level with substantial experience in Test, Electrical, and electronic engineering.
- Digital electronics and microprocessor systems.
- Analogue electronics; Power Electronics.
- Test Equipment Design.

What you'll get to do as a Test Architect:
The candidate will be responsible for performing several testing and quality assurance tasks. This includes defining and implementing a project test strategy and designing and implementing the project BIT architecture, encompassing coverage requirements, timings, and system-level routines. They will be responsible for specifying missile factory pass-out testing to ensure the correct build and support the manufacturing team with optimal test stages during production. Additionally, they will specify in-service test routines on missiles. The candidate will generate and manage compliance to lower-level test requirements for design teams, including test access needs, BIT coverage/timings, and factory test functionality. They will also analyse and model systems to understand test coverage and generate diagnostic instructions. The candidate will propose and recommend cost vs test coverage trade-offs with the Chief Design Engineer. Finally, they will produce and maintain plans for activities within the sphere of responsibility.
