Join a multinational organisation involved in the manufacture / production of materials, focussing on Network support engineering within a wider IT Department of a reputable International company located in Co. Meath. The IT Team delivers Infrastructure, Networking and Applications support and projects that underpins both internal Production & Corporate (HR, Finance, etc) functions.

As such, you will need to be on-site for 4-5 days per week, with a max of 1 day remote. Anyone who is seeking primarily a remote or more remote/hybrid role will not suit this environment. So you must be located within a daily commute of the offices in co. Meath.

As part of the IT Team, you will be engaged in both operations & projects, as a Network engineer.

Your job will include:

  • Creating, maintaining & enhancing the network infrastructure
  • Troubleshooting & resolving issues within a Cisco network infrastructure
  • Configuring and troubleshooting Network equipment - switches, routers, firewalls
  • Ensuring the network is updated with the latest security patches & backup disaster recovery plans are maintained correctly
  • Monitoring the capacity of the network, implementing upgrades and supporting network switches & routers to endure reliability
  • Assist the rest of the IT team on Windows server infrastructure when needed
  • Providing IT Networking technical expertise as part of project teams
  • End-User Support

Experience Required:

  • 3rd level qualification + a minimum of 2-3 years' experience in a similar role
  • Support & troubleshooting of Cisco, HPE or similar network switches
  • Experience working with Cisco Wireless platforms (desirable)
  • Familiarity with Windows and Virtualisation Environments (VMWare, Hyper V)
  • Familiarity with supporting Windows Servers
  • Experience working in an IT Department
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification (desirable)

While the focus of this job is on Networking / Network engineering, any experience of supporting or administering Windows server environments is desirable, to assist your colleagues in the Server & IT Support team.

Strong Communication skills, the ability to collaborate with both Technical & business colleagues, as well as being a Team player are also essential & very important attributes needed for this position too.

Salary = Market rates for mid-level role + excellent benefits

Location / Work Conditions = primarily on-site in Co. Meath
